VAEAI Early Years Engagement Program
The Early Years Engagement Program (EYEP) builds the capability of early childhood services to better incorporate First Nations perspectives into their service design, delivery and practice.
The Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Incorporated (VAEAI) delivers the EYEP, which supports kindergarten services across Victoria to embed Koorie perspectives and enhance cultural inclusion.
What support is available:
There are 8 EYEP facilitators across Victoria. Facilitators can support services to embed First Nations perspectives in their service design and delivery, regardless of whether First Nations children currently attend the service.
EYEP facilitators can also help services and providers to connect with local Aboriginal organisations and work with you to implement the VAEAI Koorie early years: best practice and protocols – a practitioner’s guide.
How to access:
Victorian Government funded kindergarten services can self refer to the program through this webform, or reach out to their local Early Childhood Improvement Branch.
