Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Line

The confidential, 24-hour Maternal and Child Health Line provides information and advice about the care and health of a child from birth to school age. When families call, qualified maternal and child health nurses can discuss concerns about child health and nutrition, breastfeeding, parent/carer health and any parenting issues.

Who

All Victorian based residents or visitors seeking non-urgent support and advice for a child from birth to school age.

  • referrals.

How to access

Contact the Maternal and Child Health Line for information and advice on 13 22 29. Available 24 hours a day.

Interpreter services for languages other than English are available free of charge.

The National Relay Service is available to help callers who are Deaf and/or find it hard hearing or speaking with people who use a phone. This service is provided free of charge and be accessed via:

  • TTY users, call 133 677, then ask for 1300 00 3224
  • Speak and Listen users, call 1300 555 727 then ask for 1300 00 3224
  • Internet relay users, connect to the National Relay Service then ask  for 1300 00 3224.
