This resource is designed to provide professionals and parents/caregivers with quick access to resources relating to child sexual abuse following recent allegations in early childhood education and care settings (ECEC).

Child Sexual Abuse in Early Childhood Education and Care Settings

Sexual Assault Services Victoria have a dedicated web page to support families who have been impacted by the allegations of sexual abuse in ECEC settings, whether their child has been directly harmed or not.

Resources are available to answer parents and carers frequently asked questions, such as:

  • How can I help my child if I don’t know if they have been harmed?
  • How can parents and carers can look after themselves at this time?
  • Should I talk to other siblings and family members about what is happening?

Health Translations is a free online library funded by the Victorian Government that provides high-quality, translated health and wellbeing information.

Telephone and After Hours Supports

Sexual Assault Crisis Line 

1800 806 292 - is a state-wide (Victoria), after-hours, confidential telephone service for people who have experienced both past and recent sexual assault. SACL operates between 5pm - 9am on weeknights and throughout weekends and public holidays.

Kids Helpline

1800 551 800 - is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week telephone support and counselling line for children aged 5 – 25years.

Parentline Victoria

132 289 - 7 days, 8 am-12 am- provides advice and supports for parents and carers of children from birth to 18years.

13YARN
13YARNis an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander crisis support line offering confidential yarning with a Lifeline-trained Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander counsellor. Phone 139 276, 7 days, 24 hours.

BeyondBlue
BeyondBlue has an online youth mental health service. It has online chat, forums and phone counselling. Phone 1300 224 636, 7 days, 24 hours.

Blue Knot
This isa support service for adult survivors of childhood trauma and abuse, parents, partners, family and friends. Phone 1300 657 380, 7 days, 9 am-5 pm.

Help Wanted
This is an online course for young people who are sexually attracted to younger children and want to live a safe, healthy, non-offending life.

Lifeline
Lifelineis a crisis support and suicide prevention service for people experiencing emotional distress. It offers counselling by phone, online chat and text message. Phone 131 114, 7 days, 24 hours.

National Domestic Family and Sexual Violence Counselling Service
